Sales Manager


Axil Coffee Roasters is a leading specialty coffee roaster based in Hawthorn, Victoria. We pride ourselves on producing exceptional quality coffee and distribute throughout Australia. Home to  the 2022 World Barista Champion and 2023 Australian Barista Champion, we pride ourselves on building a great place to work and fostering talent and development.  

We currently have an opening in our sales team for a Sales Manager so If you are self driven, love to network and want to excel in all things sales we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidate must love coffee, be an experienced Coffee Sales professional with an established network within the café industry and  a focused entrepreneurial team player.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key member of the leadership team
  • Grow market share and brand awareness across all FMCG channels including cafés, restaurants and independent supermarkets
  • Manage customer service levels
  • Gain new accounts
  • Maintain the company image and standards across all product categories
  • Provide sales mentoring and support to our team of sales representatives
  • Manage a CRM system
  • Set targets and work towards them
  • Create and manage sales initiatives to drive lead generation, improve brand awareness, and enhance overall value.

 About you:

  • Have strong business and customer relationships within the Food & Beverage industry
  • Proven success in managing accounts, selling and closing deals
  • A successful track record in negotiating successful outcomes and gaining new accounts
  • A passion for sales, you love winning new business
  • A love of coffee with a passion and enthusiasm for the food/coffee industry
  • Knowledge of B2B sales principles
  • Knowledge of the cafe landscape including key owners, managers and baristas
  • Understanding of café owner’s business structure including; complexity, culture, customers, issues, risks, needs, systems, constraints and objectives.
  • Commercial understanding of supply of coffee products and coffee equipment solutions into café market 
  • An understanding of medium to large sized coffee roasting business operations
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and solution oriented attitude
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Self motivated, work autonomously and use own initiative
  • Confident, highly organised person with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A current Driver’s license with a solid driving record
