Who will you be working with? The Sales Manager, reporting to the Sales Manager Network Partner, will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the Sales function including bringing in new business and growing current accounts.
Where is the position located? This is full time position at our office in Wetherill Park (NSW)
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and manage Customer and stakeholder engagement to support business development and growth.
Support of existing customer relationships and acquisition of new customers
Managing the sales business in the region for which she/he is responsible according to the needs and characteristics of the regional market, formulating the sales strategy and business development plan including formulation and decomposition of performance targets, progress and monitoring of business plans, customer relationship management and business process
Establishing a smooth communication channel with clients, managing tenders, negotiations, and transactions with clients
Supporting the management in the formulation of the company's development strategy, market development and sales
Preparation and drafting of offers and offer negotiations.
Preparation and review of framework agreements, supply agreements and customer orders as well as their follow-up
Examination and follow-up of customer complaints
Determining customer satisfaction
Developing business activities, promoting and maintaining the company's business and building long-term, good and stable customer relationships
Safety
Staff compliance with current safety practices to reduce injuries through reporting near misses e.g. Near Miss reporting.
Ensure Safe systems of work are considered and included in all tenders and contract negotiations.
Participate in Safety Audits and Investigations as required.
Quality
Ensure compliance with all relevant international business and ethics standards.
Deliver all tenders and bids to the required quality achieve corporate approval and meet client requirements to secure orders.
Manage adherence to the gate review process to monitor contract delivery.
Ensure that contract correspondence is being maintained in adherence with the contract terms and conditions and logged to protect Wabtec’s commercial position.
Delivery
Inform the business of market forces, customer strategy, competitor analysis.
Develop and deploy winning strategies, capture plans and bids to secure order back log.
Key KPIs and Reports on opportunities, sales and order backlog, customer centric, customer satisfaction, hit rates
Deliver Sales input to the STRAP process to support the S&OP process with Product Leads and Operations.
Secure legal opinion to key commercial documentation/decisions through liaison with internal/external legal representatives.
Support cash recovery process through close monthly control and working with customers to agree favourable payment mechanisms/settlements.
Cost
Control the marketing and entertaining expenditure to agreed yearly budget.
Control the cost of tendering and estimating activities to agreed yearly budget.
Manage departmental nonoperational cost to agreed yearly budget.
Support the production of Tenquantitative der and Project Risk Registers and actively manage the mitigation of risk across the project portfolio. Deploy mitigations to prevent margin erosion in conjunction with Product Leads
Lead and present Monthly Sales report to the Sales Lead Team.
Provide feedback from lessons learned process to tendering team for inclusion in future bids.
Understand Operational, Engineering and Material cost requirements and delivery of P&L for key product lines.
Qualifications and Skills
Sales skills on the phone and by written correspondence;
Relevant University Degree;
Experience in the Rail Industry Experience in the use of MS Word & Excel and ERP Systems;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.;
A proactive “can do” attitude;
Travelling to customer sites and other Wabtec divisions may be required on occasions.
