About The Role
Sales Representative/ FT – Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
In this role, you will be pivotal in expanding the customer base and sales within Newcastle and surrounding regional territories. Initially, in this role you will also actively support the team with the daily functions of the Newcastle branch including internal sales, logistics, some warehouse operations and any general functions of the business as needed with aim being for you learn all areas of Newcastle branch. Your goal is to maximise sales and brand promotion through effective customer engagement strategies. It is a future goal for you to effectively become the Newcastle Branch manager ultimately reporting to the National Sales Manager for the Burwell Group.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the challenges of sales, nurturing relationships but in time to also manage a tight-knit team and leading them to success in this fast-growing region for Burwell.
Responsibilities
- Continually increase sales of the branch
- Expand our reach into new customers for our latest product, Australian Garnet.
- Promote the Burwell made product range and all associated products.
- Establishing, developing and maintaining business relationships with existing customers
- Acquiring new customers by generating new leads and targeted prospects though proactive inquiry generation and developing effective business relationships
- Visiting prospective and existing customers as per call cycle
- Provide a high level of customers service to prospective and existing customers.
- Liaise with the wider branch network, to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies.
- Lead team to success to exceed monthly targets
- Manage branch operations
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company standards, prioritising a safe working environment
- Maintain and/or lead team to communicate with clients effectively
- Provide leadership and guidance to site personnel, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Document project activities, progress, and performance accurately and comprehensively.
- Respond effectively to any on-site emergencies or unforeseen challenges.
- Other duties as directed by our National Sales Manager
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- The ability to work within a team with a positive approach to challenges
- Previous management experience
- Good problem solver
- Previous trade experience
- Comfortable with computers and learning new systems
- Australian drivers licence
- Direct selling experience
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Planning/Time management of call cycle
- Ability to identify pain points and address customer needs.
- The ability to work within a team with a positive approach to challenges.
- A commitment to company OH&S policies
- On the road sales experience
- Excellent communicator at all levels
- Effective decision maker
- Some physical lifting of equipment / hoses is a usual task, so a degree of fitness is required.
- Forklift licence is not essential but is a benefit
- Knowledge of the industry would be advantageous.
- Ability to plan and problem solve.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
NOTE: Previous industry experience, whilst not essential would be of substantial benefit.
