About the job
This is a new role within Alfa Laval Oceania that offers a way into Sales for someone with an engineering background. You’ll spend most your time working with and selling solutions to our existing customer base.

As Inside Sales Engineer, you’ll process mostly digital, quick transactions while also directly supporting customers, providing complex quotations and advanced technical support that includes sizing and selection, with focus on products and services portfolio in our Marine Division.
This role is ideally based in our Sydney office, however we would also consider having the role based in Melbourne for the right candidate.
Key Tasks
  • Responsible for “Lead to Quote” process for service scopes like Upgrades, Field Service, Repairs & Service Agreements.
  • Gather required information including estimates to create the Sales quotation
  • Develop technical and commercial quotes reflecting the customer needs stressing the unique selling points.
  • Actively follow up on quotations with sales team members to understand if the proposed value is understood and if it is matching customer needs – Act to win.
  • Support sales team in AU & NZ during the quotation process.
  • Monitor Installed Base data quality and support its use by sales team.
  • Work proactively and in a structured way to ensure compliance with Alfa Laval business principles.
About You
Above all, you’re curious and driven to deliver results.
You’ll also be a qualified Engineer with experience in a sales or Sales Support environment, preferably within marine industry.
It would be advantageous to be skilled in collaboration within a matrix organization, and that includes having positive energy, clear customer focus, with an aptitude for learning and strong networking skills.
Knowledge of Alfa Laval products would be an advantage but is not essential.
Here, your approach and expertise will be essential to identifying customer challenges, needs and solutions. And while experience of analysing data would be an advantage, your manager can actively support you to grow your skills and knowledge in this area.
