About the Role (your why)
You will be joining an Award-winning SAM team at Datacom within our extensive Australian Service Operations business.
As a member of the SAM Operations team, you will be supported and valued, working collaboratively to deliver managed SAM services to customers. Our offices are based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best! This role will require Australian Citizenship to be eligible due to customer clearance requirements.
Note: this role does not involve software licensing sales targets.
What you'll do
As a SAM Consultant you will:
- Act as Consulting SAM Subject Matter Expert for our customers.
- Deliver SAM Consulting services relevant to today's changing technology landscape and market demands.
- Deliver Compliance Reviews (Effective Licensing Position) for Customers.
- Review software licensing Terms and Conditions, License Agreements, and License Contracts to identify any breaches or risks for our customers.
- Apply knowledge of licensing rules and use rights within SAM Consulting Services.
- Analyse, document, and present licensing modelling recommendations.
- Be able to identify and provide clear, concise advice on compliance and commercial risks to a variety of stakeholders, with clearly articulated reasons for the findings and recommendations.
- Propose remediation and optimisation activities that may result in reduced compliance risk and/or financial savings and cost avoidance outcomes.
- Contribute to the achievement of project outcomes while managing compliance and commercial risks for customers.
- Provide quality customer service through adherence to Datacom's Asset Management service delivery methodology and processes.
- Utilise SAM technologies and their capabilities including solutions from Flexera, Snow Software, and Service Now.
- Interpret data outputs from the SAM technologies and other tools to provide accurate and timely reporting.
- Liaise with service management, and customer teams to define, optimise, and develop SAM standards, processes, procedures, plans and controls to ensure appropriate service asset information is recorded and maintained.
What you'll bring
Required experience:
- 5+ years' experience in a similar SAM role.
- Experience with software licensing, audit, and compliance management.
- Support the delivery of SAM services and projects for multiple customers.
- Deliver technical findings and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Deliver quality solutions to customers.
- Proactive and enthusiastic team member.
- Critical thinking and reasoning.
- Ability to interpret and apply logical decision making based off data.
