We're REA

REA Group  is not your average digital business. From humble beginnings in a garage in Melbourne’s east in 1995, we have grown into a leading global digital business, specialising in property.

With bold and ambitious goals, we are changing the way the world experiences property. No matter where you're at on your property journey, we're here to help with every step - whether that's finding or financing your next home.

Our people are the key to our success. At the heart of everything we do, is a thriving culture centred around high performance and care. We are purpose driven and collaborative, which drives innovation and our ability to make a real impact. As such, we’re proud to be named in Australia’s “Top 5” Best Workplaces two  years in a row, as well as being recognised as a Best Workplace for Women.

Where the team fits in

The team is comprised of Finance, Risk & Assurance, Workplace Experience & Procurement, Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Corporate Communications.

For our Workplace team, the staff are our customers, we look after them. We support our people and give them a pleasant and safe working experience in the office and at home. We’re onsite, front of house, and always offering a helping hand.

Whilst we are looking for someone to be at our front desk, the role is not just answering the phone and greeting people with a smile. It’s about continually finding ways to improve the current office environment, looking after the space and culture, and ultimately creating a space that everyone is proud to work in.

What the role is all about

  • Act as the main point of contact and front-of-house for all visitors and guests to REA

  • Manage incoming / outgoing calls, emails, Slacks, and in-person enquiries

  • Communicate facility and office updates to staff via the appropriate channels

  • Be responsible for our visitor management system, ensuring our guests to the office do the right thing

  • Maintain security and access register and ensure all guests to REA and signed in and out appropriately

  • Ensure staff common and amenity areas such as mail room, breakfast area, and reception are well maintained

  • Monitor and action PWE (Procurement & Workplace Experience) tickets that relate to reception, including couriers, new starters and departures, lockers, events, catering, etc

  • Be responsible for reception duties for states outside of Melbourne and Sydney, as well as remote workers

  • Be responsible in the coordination of REA internal social events across all states

  • Assist the WHS Committee group to implement workplace safety programs and information in and around the office

  • Assist the Sustainability team to implement sustainable measures in and around the office

  • Assist the People Services team to implement parking, benefits, new starter and departures, and policies

  • Assist to maintain team internal intranet pages on REA intranet with relevant information and updates to staff

  • Act as both an REA First Aider or Warden (training will be provided)

Who we’re looking for

  • A real people person!

  • A quick learner and multi-tasker

  • Exceptional phone manner

  • Work productively in a fast paced and agile environment

  • Someone who likes to smile, laugh, and have fun with staff

  • Look at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens

  • Ability to lift light weight furniture and parcels in a safe way

  • Superior organisation skills

  • A proactive and approachable demeanour – a positive outlook is everything!

  • Someone who is tech-savvy and keen to keep learning

  • A team player – you take a proactive approach to supporting your team and enjoy work collaboratively

The REA experience

The physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about. This is a place to learn and grow. We’re committed to your development – both professionally and personally. Your experience with us is something we take seriously.

We offer:

  • A hybrid and flexible approach to working

  • Flexible parental leave offering for primary and secondary carers

  • Programs to support mental, emotional, financial and physical health & wellbeing

  • Our Because We Care program offers employees volunteering leave, community grants, matched payroll giving and our Community Café donates 100% of revenue to charity.

  • Hack Days so you can bring your big ideas to life

  • Performance recognition programs because hard work should never go unnoticed

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity, equity and inclusion. We believe teams with diverse ideas and experiences are more creative, more effective and fuel disruptive thinking - be it cultural and ethnic backgrounds, gender identity, disability, age, sexual orientation, or any other identity or lived experience. We know diverse teams are critical to maintaining our success and driving new business opportunities. If you've got the skills, dedication and enthusiasm to learn but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch.
