Role Specific Duties:
Responsibilities and duties to be undertaken by the role include but are not limited to: The primary duties of this role include the following:
- Design, configure and test SAP S/4HANA, including FIORI in accordance with strict information system standards and documentation requirements.
- Transfer knowledge to support staff of SAP S/4HANA in accordance with the adopted functionality and operating procedures.
- Document system configuration, technical specifications and procedures ensuring that they are maintained, reflect best practices for user requirements and appropriately comply with recognised Departmental and Government accounting policies.
- Effectively engages with internal staff and external partners to implement industry standard solutions.
- Uses extensive SAP, FICO knowledge to drive adoption of technology and process improvements that create superior solutions for the company, customers and vendors.
- Provide expert advice and support in the completion of quality reviews of deliverables and ensure that all appropriate financial controls are in place and functioning in S/4HANA
- Recommend and implement improvements to the processes involved in the deployment of application and infrastructure releases within Corporate Technology Services. This person will also be recognized as a subject matter expert in FICO, and be influential in setting direction and process.
- Provide expert advice on changes to the solution design to ensure the system design remains robust, fit for purpose and meets requirements
- Work collaboratively with other management team members of the support team to ensure that each FICO system change has been fully considered for both application and infrastructure implications and the resources are available to implement changes.
An ‘ideal candidate’ would have:
- Proven experience in the support and configuration of large-scale SAP Solutions, preferably S/4HANA. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills in SAP S/4HANA in the following areas:
- Uses extensive SAP, FICO knowledge to drive adoption of technology and process improvements that create superior solutions for the company, customers and vendors.
- Demonstrates broad technical leadership, exerts influence outside of immediate team, provides mentoring and guidance to other team members and drives positive change.
- Act as an expert advisor, staying abreast of developments in SAP and continually upgrading functional knowledge and applying/sharing that knowledge across the organization.
- Develops FICO competency throughout the business by leading the training, system setup, testing, documentation and maintenance support activities.
- Ensure that all appropriate financial controls are in place and functioning in S/4HANA.
- These skills should include experience in formulation, documenting and implementing functional and technical specifications, including:
- Effectively engages with internal staff and external stakeholders
- Good knowledge of current technical trends, including systems integration, and service-oriented architecture.
Skills in the following areas would also be highly regarded:
- Knowledge and experience of FIORI, ABAP programming and SAP Workbench developments (desirable)
- The candidate will ideally have forged their skill set through working in and leading complex, large business implementations―as a broad indication, it is anticipated that candidates would have a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in such roles.
