Talent Street is looking for SAP HCM Lead ABAP Developer with experience of SAP ABAP programming and SAP workbench developments in the context of a HCM solution for a large government organization.
Commencement Date : 4/03/20234 to 30/06/2024 (with possible extension)
Location : Brisbane CBD, QLD
The Key Responsibilities:
- System analysis of current configuration with a view to modernise and optimise the ABAP code base in preparation for a conversion from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA with a specific focus on the HCM LoB;
- Undertake systems development and implementation of custom components using SAP’s clean core principles and methodologies;
- Interpret business requirements and functional models;
- Consult with team leaders offering expert advice relating to systems implementations to ensure that additional system functionality aligns with established business requirements and SAP best practices;
- Participate in the specification and development of business rules necessary to support systems implementation in accordance with legislative and business requirements;
- Ability to lead initiatives to establish new design standards to align with SAP’s low code development approach;
- Provide technical advice and perform quality reviews on code developments, standards and specifications ensuring that optimum processing efficiency is obtained;
- Lead the evaluation and update of the existing development strategies and align existing developments to these new standards;
- Design, develop and provide testing guidance for the HCM product solution in a certified, secure and highly professional expert manner inclusive of application security, reporting and workflows;
- Tune and optimise the solution in a certified and highly professional expert manner throughout S/4HANA conversion project;
- Provide expert and large commercial experience in design, develop and test guidance on all modules, parts and components within the HCM product solution;
- Provide expert and large commercial experience in design, develop and test guidance so as to ensure optimum lifecycle maintenance and monitoring of the HCM product solution;
- Other duties as directed
An ‘ideal candidate’ would be someone who can demonstrate technical experience in one or more of the following:
- Proven experience in the support and development of large scale SAP HCM Solutions, preferably HCM for S/4HANA and SAP ECC6
- Well-developed analytical and problems solving skills preferably in SAP HCM in the following areas:
- Organisational Management
- Payroll (preferably Australian)
- HR to FI/Co integration
- Time Management
- Personnel Administration
- ESS/MSS Fiori Apps
- Experience with SAP workflow, specifically flexible workflow in an S/4HANA environment
- Extensive and proven experience of SAP ABAP programming and SAP workbench developments in the context of a HCM solution
- These skills should include experience in formulating, documenting and implementing technical specifications, including:
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good knowledge of current technical trends, including systems integration, and service- oriented architecture
Skills in the following areas would also be highly regarded:
- Knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and award structures in Government
- Experience with Integrated HR and Rostering Solutions
- SAP conversion projects from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANAThe candidate will ideally have built their skill set through working in and leading complex, large business implementations―as a broad indication, it is anticipated that candidates would have a minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in such roles.
- Good knowledge of current technical trends in regard to S/4HANA, Fiori, SAP clean core development principles, SAP Workflow.
Skills in the following areas would also be highly regarded:
- A degree or post graduate qualification in information technology, accountancy/commerce or business management.
- Experience in projects managed under the Prince2 Project Management Methodology, ITIL, Agile or SAFE.
- Experience in complex Government environments, ability to travel intrastate as required, working with/within the healthcare services sector.
