About the role
The purpose of this role is to support the Category Management activities across the business that ensure level of service requirements are met and value for money is delivered. Category management activities will include the whole of life engagement with suppliers from sourcing to commercial engagement, management, and compliance. The position will support the Strategic Procurement activities for Austal across Australasia.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Support the Category Specialist in identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
- Engage with suppliers to develop pricing submissions.
- Administer supplier agreements.
- Interrogate ERP system to identify opportunities for improvement.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
Essential
- Ability to analyse data and identify trends and patterns.
- Effective interpersonal skills and written communication competence.
- Effective relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Tertiary level qualifications in Supply Chain, Contractual Law, Engineering, or relevant area.
- Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment, ideally IFS.
- Supply Chain/Procurement experience.
- Experience in the Defence or Maritime/Shipbuilding industry, or equivalent.
