What you'll be doing
The objective of the Schedule Analytics Specialist role is to lead the reporting and analytics function for Schedules Planning. Effective collaboration with Commercial and Operational stakeholders is critical to success in this role, to ensure timely delivery of concise information pieces that support decision making, and facilitate integration of Schedule Planning data into inhouse business reporting systems. A further aspect of this role is the development of new/enhancement of existing PowerBI reporting tools, leading the delivery of close-in schedule variations in close collaboration with Schedule Planning Variations team and Revenue Management; and acting as an Information Lead for Seasonal Schedule and Budget/ Reforecast deliverables.
Further responsibilities include:
- Manage the delivery for all development Schedule Planning PowerBI reports (e.g. slots utilization report, schedule comparisons report, and BITRE market/capacity share report); support the implementation of best practice updates to Schedule Planning PowerBI reports and data techniques
- Manage the delivery of close-in capacity optimization to drive improved revenue performance; actively collaborate with Revenue Management and Schedule Planning Variations stakeholders to secure best possible business outcomes within context of operational constraints for crew resourcing, fleet deployment and 80/20 slot utilization
- ̵Manage timely delivery of Budget and Reforecast data sets; includes preparation of summary presentations on key period-on-period variations and formatting Schedule Planning datasets for TM1 uploads
- ̵Lead corporate communications process; insert meaningful commentary and statistics for Schedule Planning inputs into media releases, ad-hoc outbound communications, and internal briefs
- Actively monitor both forward & historical route performance; support implementation of Schedule Planning initiatives from Route Prof working group
- Evaluate and provide specialist advice on route costing to estimate the forecasted ad-hoc Charter profit for Virgin Australia
- Effectively contribute to building seasonal domestic network plan (NS & NW plans); assess schedules against both Commercial and Operational drivers for On Time Performance (OTP), capacity share, network connectivity (VA metal and partner airlines) and forecasted route profitability
- ̵Maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (Network Planning, Revenue Management, Alliances, Sales, Finance, GCC, Public Relations and Government Relations)
- 3 years' experience in an airline, transportation or commercial function
- Highly proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Previous experience with Power BI is advantageous
- Ability to efficiently manipulate large datasets
- Work well under pressure
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders
- Understanding of commercial and operational aspects of the airline industry or a similar industry (logistics, transportation, etc.)
