The role
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate School Accompanist to join our team in the Music Department at Brighton Grammar on a full time, ongoing basis.
The School Accompanist is an integral part of the School community and is responsible for accompanying a range of solo instrumentalists and choral ensembles. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide individual instrumental tuition to a small number of Junior and/or Secondary students.
To thrive in this exciting role, the successful candidate must demonstrate:
Advanced skills as an accompanist, including the ability to sight read and read from sheet music and chord charts.
Significant experience teaching and performing a wide variety of styles and ability levels, including to AMusA or equivalent level would be advantageous.
Demonstrated experience facilitating instrumental lessons in a school environment.
An up to date and thorough understanding of principles and practices related to student learning strategies.
Exceptional organisational, administrative and time management skills.
A current working with children check is required.
