Job description

We're a K-10 School of 230 students situated on Lardil Country within a Community of Islands in the Gulf of Carpentaria, far North West Queensland.
We invite the young people of the Community to Thaldi Bana Merri - "come and learn", as we teach and learn the Curriculum through connection to Country, Culture and Language. This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, until the end of 2024, unless otherwise determined.
Our team of passionate educators work with families to create a school that enables our young people to be strong, proud and successful citizens in a 21st century world. This position may also entail air travel and occasional overnight stays in other locations.

About the Role
As a School Community Partnerships Facilitator, you have the exciting opportunity to work in a temporary project role where your primary responsibility is to foster meaningful connections between schools, students, parents, and the local community. You will play a crucial role in coordinating collaborative efforts within and between agencies to provide targeted support to enhance learning experiences for diverse student populations.
Your expertise in community engagement, coupled with your network of connections, will empower you to deliver transformative support that addresses attendance, engagement, and learning challenges, ultimately leading to improved educational outcomes for students. In your role, you will support at the school level the implementation of the system's Reading Commitment to ensure that all learners are developing the necessary skills to be literate, life-long learners.
In your capacity as a School Community Partnerships Facilitator, you will also work closely with community groups and parents, and liaising with various organisations to support students' health and wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include organising school and community meetings, engaging with families and staff and where relevant facilitating the development of career pathways for students.
It's important to note that the successful candidate for this role may require access to a car, a valid driver's license, and insurance, as this position may require visits to various communities, external organisations, and parents.
Mandatory Requirements for and Identified Role:
