Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a full-time Science Teacher to join our team. This is an ongoing position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and contribute to the rich tapestry of Catholic education. As a Science Teacher you will play a pivotal role in inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for science.

Responsibilities:

• Inspiring Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction in science subjects, fostering inquiry-based learning and hands-on exploration. Through captivating demonstrations and interactive lessons, ignite students' curiosity and passion for scientific discovery.
• Curriculum Development: Design engaging and innovative lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote scientific literacy. Incorporate real-world applications and contemporary issues to make science relevant and meaningful to students' lives.
• Inclusive Learning Environment: Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential. Foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect, where diversity is celebrated and all voices are heard.
• Integration of Faith: Integrate Catholic values and principles into science education, encouraging students to explore the ethical dimensions of scientific inquiry. Help students see the beauty of creation and the wonders of the natural world as reflections of God's love and wisdom.
• Collaborative Partnerships: Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect science with other areas of study. Explore cross-curricular connections and engage in meaningful dialogue to enhance students' understanding of science in the context of broader societal issues.
• Assessment and Feedback: Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to support student growth and achievement. Use a variety of assessment strategies to gauge student understanding and adapt instruction accordingly. • Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay abreast of current trends in science education. • Hold a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
• Possess a relevant qualification in science education or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching science in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
