• In this role you will provide support to the Research & Innovation team in implementing WMH’s ambitious Research Strategy, including streamlining Ethics and Governance processes, providing visibility of approved research projects to clinical managers and developing / mentoring clinicians in developing research protocols.

About the role
The Ethics & Governance officer is responsible for the governance of all research activity within the HHS. The role leads, supports, coordinates and managers the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (WMHHS) Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) in accordance with organisational goals, National Health and Medical Research Council Guidelines and all relevant legislation to human research. The Ethics & Governance Officer will have an understanding of legal, ethical and financial issues associated with human research projects.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Extensive experience in the management of research governance, compliance, monitoring and integrity functions within a large complex organisation.
- Knowledge and familiarity of the Queensland, National and International health and medical research environment.
- High level of written and conversational communication with research leaders, professional academics and clinical researchers.
- Experience and understanding across a range of legislative and regulatory requirements and guidelines related to research governance.
- Knowledge of the administration and functioning of an ethics committee will be highly regarded.
