About the roles
We are looking for problem-solving scientists and engineers for varied roles including research and development, design, and construction of precision lasers, wavemeters, interferometers, low and high-power fibre amplifiers, frequency doublers and sophisticated electronics. You will work closely with a cohort of quantum physicists and engineers.
About you
With a wide range of positions available, we need skills at BSc, MSc and PhD levels, with particular emphasis on creativity, problem-solving, written and oral communication, and attention to detail. You will work in a supportive and stimulating environment with a like-minded team of professionals in Carlton, Melbourne.
Qualifications & experience
- BSc, MSc or PhD in experimental physics, physical chemistry, engineering or related areas involving hands-on design and construction of apparatus
- Practical laboratory skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Professional approach, including effective time management, a collaborative approach, and a positive and constructive attitude
Ideally you will also have experience with:
- Hands-on experience with lasers and/or optics
- Experience working in a production manufacturing environment
