ABOUT THE ROLE
The Secondary Triage and Referral Consultant (CNC) positions perform a critical function within NSW Ambulance, providing specialist Secondary Triage and clinical advice for triple zero callers who do not require an emergency ambulance and who can be better managed through an alternate care pathway. Secondary Triage and Referral Consultants are responsible for conducting telephone triage aimed at identifying and providing the appropriate coordinated health management response to members of the community who call triple zero (000). Secondary Triage and Referral Consultants will provide clinical leadership to other clinicians.
This role will enable you to use your generalist and specialist clinical knowledge and skills in Secondary Triage and assessment of patients in a virtual environment. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Telephone Secondary Triage of triple zero (000) calls.
Referral of patients to appropriate alternate care pathways.
Operation of industry-specific communication systems.
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to determine a coordinated response.
Provide clinical leadership in line with your expertise.
Monday to Friday - 38 hours per week

ABOUT YOU
The NSW Ambulance Virtual Clinical Care Centre (VCCC) is currently expanding to incorporate increased Mental Health services.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health) works as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing acute Mental Health advice and will collaborate win internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver education and clinical resources for NSW Ambulance Virtual Clinical Care (VCCC) Clinicians with an emphasis on positive outcomes that are tailored to an individual ’s needs.
The successful applicant will also support VCCC operations for complex Mental Health assessments and work as a senior clinician within a multi-disciplinary team, providing high standard clinical skills and expertise in the assessment and provision of short-term management strategies for people in acute distress and with major Mental Health conditions. The applicant will be highly motivated to engage in consultation, support and educative practices with other parts of NSW Ambulance, clinical teams, families, carers, and other agencies.

Question 3: Describe your experience and the challenges you have previously had in ensuring effective partnerships with Mental Health services, GPs, and Community Managed organisations. What were your actions and the outcome.
