Primary Work Location: Wyong NSW 

  • Use your hands on leadership experience to lead a team who will be at the forefront of welcoming back Councillors and the Mayor into Central Coast Council
  • Work/Life Balance - 19 day month with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available 
  • Temporary Term Contract full time up to June 2025

The Section Manager Councillor and Democratic Services will oversee the processes and procedures for the return of the Councillors to Central Coast Council. You will lead a team who will be leading and coordinating this return and you will be required to provide your expertise in problem solving, knowledge of the political arena and expertise in stakeholder management to enable a seamless transition from Administration to welcoming back Councillors and a Mayor in September 2024.  

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Lead the team and coordinate resources for the Councillor and Democratic Services team to allow for seamless support services to be provided to the Mayor and Councillors
  • Advocate for the Office of the Mayor within the organisation to achieve efficient and effective outcomes
  • Provide advice to the Mayor on key policy and strategy issues.

  • You are experienced in working with key political figures and interested in representing a large and growing community
  • You have excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills and are able to have a hands on approach to support a team and deliver work
  • You have high level communication skills including media and public relations experience
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise and growing your experience

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $116.4k to $139.6k per annum dependent on skills and experience + 11% superannuation. 

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role, with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.
