It offers a wide range of lifestyle activities and places to enjoy.About The RoleAs the Section Manager Strategic Business Partnering, reporting directly to the Unit Manager People and Culture, you will be leading a significant team of dedicated and experienced HR Business Partners. A high performing team, it works collaboratively with leaders in each Directorate to understand their business requirements and deliver people and culture and workforce strategies that will meet the long term operational objectives in alignment to Council’s Strategic initiatives and Council’s People and Culture Strategy.Key accountabilities
- With support from the Unit Manager People and Culture and working collaboratively with the People and Culture leadership team, drive a Business Partnering approach that contributes to organisational effectiveness and enables the success of People and Culture strategies and programs
- Advise and guide leaders and employees in the interpretation of applicable Award/s, Agreements, protocols, procedures and legislation to ensure consistency in their implementation and operation
- Lead the Senior Business Partners and their teams by providing guidance and oversight on day-to-day operational People and Culture and Industrial Relations matters including performance management, disciplinary issues, grievances, workplace change, workplace investigations, job evaluation, conflict resolution, industrial relations issues and workplace grievances
- Provide professional senior advice and manage complex People and Culture matters and projects taking into consideration relevant industrial instruments and practices, legislation, precedent, organisational culture and historical treatment of issues
- Build capability in the Senior Business Partner team through mentoring and coaching on People and Culture related matters, providing professional development opportunities, appropriate feedback and identifying training requirements
- Develop and promote a culture of continuous improvement, reviewing and monitoring work practices, processes, procedures, systems and policies to ensure their efficiency, effectiveness
