The Kath French Secure Care Centre, Stoneville is located 20 minutes from Midland on more than 40 acres of rural property where the kangaroos roam free.

It is a planned, short-term intensive intervention centre for children who are at extreme risk and where existing services cannot manage that risk. The team is committed to ensuring we provide children with safe, trauma informed, therapeutic care during their short stay with us.

In the role of Secure Care Worker, you will have an opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team that strive to make a real difference in the lives of children every day. You will work as part of a small, supportive and compassionate team that are supported by specialist education, psychology and social work staff who prioritise self-care and wellbeing.

As a Secure Care Worker you will be working directly with children and youth in care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a high standard of therapeutic care consistent with the Secure Care goals and frameworks.
  • Contributing to and maintaining a culturally, emotionally, and physically safe therapeutic environment for children and staff.
  • Supporting and encouraging children through engaging with them in activities relating to their personal interests, e.g. outdoor activities, cooking, games, artwork and education activities.
  • Assisting in the transportation and admission of children into the centre.
  • Completing administrative duties as required.

Remuneration

As a full-time Secure Care Worker, Level 3 will receive a base rate of $79,156 - $84,977pa dependant on your experience. You will also receive an additional 25% commuted allowance for undertaking shift work bringing your salary to between $98 945 - $106 221 pa.

Casual employees will receive an additional 25% leave loading allowance on their base rate and additional penalties that may be applicable.
