You will be responsible for conducting incident response and maintaining a robust team to ensure effective monitoring and coverage. This role requires an operational mindset and the ability to work within service management processes.
You must have an advanced understanding of security operations, detection development processes, and the skill to develop documentation and playbook improvements. Leading the collection and prioritisation of detection and alerting issues, you will play a key role in shaping engineering objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:
- support incident response and security operations centre functions.
- collaborate with system admins for log generation and incident use case development.
- utilise SIEM tools to build alerts, dashboards, and automated reports.
- provide day-to-day monitoring of SIEM data and initiate incident response activities as required.
- assist the IT security team in preparing information briefs, reports, and maintaining it security guidelines and procedures.
- contribute to it system accreditation activities and apply DevSecOps principles.
- NV2 security clearance is essential.
- qualifications in cyber security and information technology.
- experience in a government environment or systems.
- skills in scripting, programming languages, and knowledge of logging and detection architecture.
- experience in applying government IT security policies and developing internal security procedures.
- strong communication skills, including concise writing.
- experience in sustaining it security systems and secure system design.
- relevant industry training or qualifications, such as GIAC, CISSP, etc.
