Address An experienced Human Resources Generalist is required for a permanent position FIFO to PNG. Your new company
Your new company is a mining contractor that specialises in geotechnical and construction services who have an ongoing joint venture in PNG. They are seeking a Human Resources Manager to manage the HR functions of the site administration team in line with local and group requirements. This is a FIFO role, on a 22-day on and 20 day off roster.
Your new role
Reporting to the Project Human Resources Manager, you will:
Develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures that will contribute to an effective organisational structure and culture
Ensure HR requirements are identified, that resources are assigned and effectively, and that a positive, harmonious, and engaging workplace environment is maintained.
Create training and development and coaching opportunities for each staff member
Ensure compliance with labour law and wider legislation impacting on the work environment, i.e. Anti-discriminatory, sexual harassment, domestic abuse laws
Implement strategies for a positive work environment
Functional process analysis & redesign interdepartmental functioning and process flows
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline
Previous experience in the heavy industry sector
Extensive post graduate HR generalist experience, preferably within the resources or heavy industry sector.
Experience in a standalone HR role
Previous FIFO experience
Ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical and Police Check
A strong understanding and applied knowledge of Human Resources and training practices.
The ability to analyse and solve problems, driven by company policy and procedures, displaying initiative to get the best outcome;
The ability to hold and conduct difficult conversations, supporting and coaching line leaders to deliver their own crucial conversations.
