Calroc is currently seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Construction Estimator to join the team on a full-time basis.
Most of the work is carried out throughout the Perth region.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting Construction Managers, Project Engineers and Surveyors in planning and organisation
- Manage the preparation of submissions in accordance with Calroc processes.
- Interpreting plans, regulations and codes of practice
- Seek to understand all key drivers leading to a client’s decision to award (inclusive but not limited to price) and ensure that Calroc’s tenders reflect our understanding of these drivers.
- Coordinating works programs
- Ensure all submissions meet the Calroc standard for presentation, quality and understanding
- Calculating costs for tender submission and estimating time scales
- Develop and maintain a pool of suppliers and subcontractors, incorporating performance feedback
- Performing routine computations and plotting preliminary data
- Reviewing tenders in detail and Incorporating latest developments, achievements, techniques into submissions
- Constant improving of the methods of tendering that Calroc uses, this may include Expert master files, programming, Risk and Opp or general processes undertaken to submit a quality bid.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrated performance in safe and profitable project execution
- Client relationship management experience
- Sound ability in estimating knowledge and project cost control
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, EXPERT estimating software.
- Thorough understanding of established HSEQ systems and principles
- Exposure to multiple activities (e.g. FRP works, Earth works, Subdivisions, underground piping, etc) across multiple sectors (e.g. Roads, Water, Mining, etc)
- Experienced in multiple forms of contract.
- Sound financial and commercial understanding
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability
- Highly developed writing and verbal communication ability
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)
- 3-7 years of estimating experience in a relevant industry
- Min 3 years of onsite project experience
