The Security staff provide a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors according to work health and safety legislation.It is expected that security staff provide the highest possible standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.NOTE: Security staff, like other NSW Health staff, must contact the police if there is suspected criminal activity on or around a NSW Health premises.Security staff must not place themselves, or be expected by others to place themselves, at unnecessary risk in carrying out their duties. To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Current First Aid Certificate; Current NSW Security Licence in accordance with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A and a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences).
- Effective written and oral communication skills to enable:- (1) sound team work in an often challenging work environment; and (2) clear and concise written record keeping.
- Ability and willingness to participate in rotating shift work
- Sound understanding of the application of security techniques including conflict resolution skills, de-escalation and restraint practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work, with minimum supervision, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated computer literacy at a data entry level as well as ability to operate electronic security systems.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a high degree of personal integrity and motivation.
