The opportunity
For this brand-new role, we are seeking an experienced leader in security management, ideally within a casino or similar gaming and hospitality environment.
As the Security Operations Manager, you are responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day Security Operations. You will cultivate a positive work culture and manage the training and development of our security personnel. You will use your leadership and technical knowledge to ensure compliance and will be expected to lead by example and work a mixture of admin days and shifts on the floor, including nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to Security and Surveillance Shift Managers, Senior Security Officers, and Security Officers in managing daily operations.
- Ensuring security delivers on our Moment of Truth promise, managing customer complaints and queries, and maintaining high standards of care.
- Maintain compliance to minimise risk to the business in accordance with the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission along with other relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs for the security team, including onboarding of new employees.
- Lead and drive change management initiatives to continuously improve department-specific processes and procedures.
- Manage staffing levels, budgets, and resources to maintain an effective and efficient operation whilst achieving annual growth targets.
- Work with stakeholders to assess risk and manage events.
Ideally, you will have the following:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in security management, preferably within a casino or similar gaming and hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of the security industry.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Effective collaboration and prioritising exceptional customer service for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to drive change and nurture a positive and supportive culture.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to gaming security and surveillance.
Required licenses and certificates:
- Certificate 3 in Security Operations
- Tasmanian Security Licence, Monitoring Room and Crowd Control
- Tasmania Gaming Special Employee Licence
- Responsible Conduct of Gaming
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Workplace First Aid
