Due to business growth Comtec Data Solutions are expanding our Karratha team. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Licensed Security Technicians or Licensed Telecommunications Technicians to fill multiple roles for an immediate start in the Pilbara region. The positions offer the option between local with possible relocation assistance and FIFO from Perth.

Salary package will be dependent on experience plus whether FIFO or residential position.  Retention bonuses and project bonuses payable.

What will you be doing? About the role.

Providing onsite installations, configurations, maintenance services and support to our clients while delivering professionally adept, quality security and related communication security services. You will be working on multiple remote mining and industrial sites within the Pilbara as well as commercial and government sites that may require travel and overnight stays in remote towns. 

Essential Duties;

• Install, program, maintain, and repair security systems, alarm devices, PIR’s, cameras, access control components, board panels, cabling, and related equipment and infrastructure whilst following diagrams, project scope of works, procedures, electrical layouts and building plans. 
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems encountered by customers and end-users.
• Install, feed and haul cables through access holes, roof spaces, in ground conduits and cavity walls to reach required locations and fixture outlets, position and terminate cables.
• Terminate and test fibre optic, coaxial and data cables using latest testing equipment and to Australian warranty standards.
• Inspect installation sites, study work orders and job details. Review building plans and vendor installation manuals in order to determine the correct materials, understand specific requirements and the correct installation procedures to produce a successful security outcome.
• Mount and test control panels, electronic printed circuit boards, doors and window contacts, PIR sensors, and video cameras. Attach wiring as required in order to connect various solution components. 

Do you have these skills and experiences?

To be a part of our friendly and supportive team we are seeking people with the following qualifications & attributes;

- Have a minimum of two years experience in a similar Security Technician role, or Telecommunications role
- Possess a valid security installer's license, ACMA Open Cabler Registration and manual C class driver's license.
- A team player with a great work ethic.
- Have a strong understanding of workplace safety.
- Have experience installing and configuring alarm systems, access control systems and IP based CCTV systems.
- Basic IT networking experience.
- Experience with fibre testing and fault-finding equipment would be highly regarded.
- White Card, First Aid, Working at Heights, Confined Space & EWP tickets will be highly regarded.
- The ability to obtain a national police clearance, ASIC and MSIC.
