Bejo Aus seeks a motivated individual to join its Seed Production team as an Agronomist/Field Officer. The position, based in Bejo, Australia’s Richmond location just outside of Hobart, involves supporting the production of seed crops by providing high-level agronomic advice. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing a variety of crops to help Bejo Australia meet the company's forecast requirements for yield, quality, and financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provides agronomic and technical advice to support quality Seed Production on leased fields and grower-contracted areas.
- Plans, prioritizes, and coordinates weekly activities with the field operations team.
- Supports operational coordinators in efficiently planning, preparing, planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops using Bejo's IT resources.
- Implements chemical and hygiene programs by keeping up with agricultural practices and collaborating on crop programs.
- Communicates with pollination suppliers for forecasts and services.
- Collaborates with Field Operations to supervise work teams and colleagues as per Bejo procedures and safety culture when required.
- Provides sound planning at all levels to enhance organizational coordination and increase efficiencies.
- Supports and leads in the use of farm management software.
Communication:
- Effectively communicates with growers, colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
- Maintains strong relationships with growers and landlords.
- Builds working relationships with other seed companies to maintain isolation boundaries.
As this is a leadership position, you will be instrumental in helping to maintain a safe working environment and culture, including using Bejo’s safety app, and undertaking crop and job site assessments.
Who Should Apply? To be considered, applicants should have:
- A degree in agriculture, applied science, agronomy, plant protection, or a related discipline.
- Agronomic experience in horticulture, broadacre row cropping, or irrigated farming practice, with experience in hybrid Seed Production, is considered favourably.
- Strong time management and project management skills, with the ability to work as part of a team yet be comfortable working autonomously.
- Self-motivation, a high degree of initiative, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain and build relationships, both internally and externally.
- Permanent residency, a valid Australian driver’s license, and proficiency in using a range of Microsoft Office applications.
