We are seeking a motivated, solutions-focused Senior Accountant to join the Finance & Risk team to contribute to all things accounting!
In this role, you will support the delivery and management of the Council’s Annual Financial Statements, Business Plan and Budget, Long Term Financial Plans and Budget Reviews. This position plays a crucial role in financial reporting, compliance, and the maintenance of strong financial controls, contributing significantly to the organisation's financial health, financial accountability, and regulatory compliance. As a business partner you will provide technical advice and manage relationships to ensure optimum performance.
Your capabilities will include being a good communicator, possessing a high level of organisational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. A high proficiency level using Microsoft Excel is essential with experience in Local Government and using Technology One would be an advantage as this role will be driving business intelligence improvements as well as being the key Finance contact for the Corporate ERP Cloud Transition.
To be successful in this pivotal role, you will have proven yourself consistently in a financial accounting role with a strong focus on statutory accounts and accounting standards and you will have a degree in accounting or business and have completed or be undertaking the CA or CPA program.
The position is offered on a permanent full-time basis and is classified at Level 7 under the City of Burnside’s Administration Enterprise Agreement 2023.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a National Police Check as part of the onboarding process. You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this position.
