This is a truly collaborative role, where you will engage with various stakeholders across other corporate functions of the business such as Treasury, Corporate Finance, Planning and Performance, Accounting Services and Reporting, Forecasting and Analytics, having input in driving key business outcomes.You’ll join an innovative team, who are the backbone of our business. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.Day-to-day, you will:
- Assist the Accounting Policy and Advisory Leads in establishing and managing general accounting policies and procedures
- Apply technical facets of IFRS principles to new transactions, reporting and regulatory issues and provide clear guidance to Operations for changes in accounting and budget / forecasting required for new transactions, reporting and regulatory issues
- Be heavily involved in the half year and year-end annual reports, playing a lead role in the preparation of the Group’s financial results (complex group disclosures)
- Assist the Accounting Policy and Advisory Leads with finance related activities during the debt and equity raising process to fund new major developments and acquisitions
- Assist the Accounting Policy and Advisory Leads with technical accounting analysis for complex issues arising from business development activity, mergers and acquisitions, organisational change and change in regulatory requirements
- Develop a greater level of technical accounting knowledge across the broader Transurban Accounting Group.
- Tertiary Accounting qualifications plus CPA/CA qualifications (or international equivalent)
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in a professional services or large/complex Corporate environment
- Previous exposure to more complex financial exercises and structuring e.g. Large Group Consolidation, Financial Instruments etc
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the challenges a growing business can throw your way
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide accurate information to key stakeholders
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- You can identify problems before they arise, and independently investigate or adjust before they become a bigger issue (and escalate when needed!)
