AddressCurrent Opportunity - Senior Accountant, Internal Finance – 12-month contract
We have a 12-month opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our national finance team at BDO. This role has been created to assist our wider finance team during a period of growth and change, offering exposure to see a firm undergoing a new system implementation, internal process reviews and the opportunity to work across various areas of finance. The work and projects assigned will depend on wider team capacity but will be varied in nature.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist the financial accounting team with the month end process and various ad hoc accounting duties
- Assisting the Financial Accounting team with various accounting related projects
- Leave cover for team members across the general ledger and projects team
- Preparation of budget workpapers
- Identify and implement improvements to our internal processes and workpapers
- Supporting the Chief Financial Officer with ad-hoc projects and requests
What you’ll need to succeed:
- 4-5+ years relevant experience
- Experience with Great Plains (preferred but not essential)
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with Power Query experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to problem solve, think critically about processes, and identify efficiencies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
