AddressOur client is a renowned metal manufacturer looking for a Senior Accountant/Finance Manager to join a team of best practise working 5 days a week out of their Pakenham Office.
About the role
This role is a permanent position ensuring financial operations are monitored by keeping precise records, addressing discrepancies, and delivering comprehensive reports to management.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports, and cashflow statements.
- Manage the general ledger, complete monthly journals, and schedules, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor/supplier and sales invoices, review aged debtor balances, and improve the collection process.
- Assist in preparing GST, FBT, Payroll, Corporate Tax returns, year-end accounts, and finance presentations for board meetings.
- Prepare budgets and forecast reports and ensure adherence to accounting standards and policies.
- Train and mentor 1 direct report overseas, liaise with external auditors, assist in process improvements, and identify beneficial new initiatives.
About you
- Degree qualification in accounting.
- 5-10 years of experience in an accounting role.
- CPA / CA qualification (or working towards) is an advantage.
- Live close to the Pakenham office.
- An analytical mind.
- Sound negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Commercial and business awareness
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
- Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints.
