The Role
This role is responsible for a range of accounting activities for unlisted unit trusts and liaises with the wider fund accounting team and our internal stakeholders. The position incorporates the following:
- Undertaking monthly reconciliations of various unlisted unit trusts including equity, income and alternative assets to ensure general ledger integrity
- Maintain fixed asset registers – additions, disposals, depreciations and GL reconciliation
- Prepare quarterly Business Activity Statements
- Prepare distribution calculations and yearly income tax returns
- Assist in the preparation of annual budget and reforecasting including analysis of variance
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaising with auditors
- Calculate unit pricing
- Review of annual unitholder tax statements
- Undertake feasibility analysis for acquisitions/disposals/terminations for internal use
- Preparing of bank covenants
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement process improvement
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be qualified with a Finance/Commerce degree and ideally CA/CPA certified with a minimum of 3-5 years solid accounting experience within a similar environment. In addition, strong analytical skills, knowledge of accounting standards and taxation affecting the managed funds industry is highly advantageous.
