Accounts & Administrative Officer 

Riverside Crane Hire is a family-owned business that operates a well-organised and successful Crane, Rigging and Transport Operation both throughout Perth and Regional locations of Western Australia. 

We are looking for an experienced Accounts & Administration Officer to be part of our team that will bring a high level of professionalism and communication to our team.

The role is an engaging one, requiring a high level of consistent and accurate data entry. It would suit a professional who takes pride in detail and accuracy with minimal supervision and offers great flexibility to work 32 to 38 hours a week on a part-time or full-time basis.

The duties of the position will include but are not limited to:

Accounts Receivable / Payable

  • Generate sales invoices and enter supplier invoices into our accounting system.
  • Liaise with relevant staff to determine the allocation to projects and matching against supplier invoices and purchase orders.
  • Maintain expected payment dates in our accounting system and follow up overdue payments.
  • Create bank payments and reconcile in our accounting system.
  • Obtain and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Monitor and reconcile company credit card accounts.
  • Obtain receipts from cardholders and assign expenses to projects.
  • Align client and supplier payment terms and manage payment expectations.
  • Assist with the generation of purchase orders.
  • Match supplier invoices with purchase orders and advise relevant staff of variances.
  • Reconciliation of petty cash.
  • Managing ongoing subscriptions.
  • Engage with suppliers and customers for initiation of trading accounts.
  • Enter and maintain customers and suppliers in various systems.

Payroll

  • Assist with the processing of weekly payrolls.
  • Read and become familiar with the different employee contracts and Workplace Agreements. 
  • Assist with the administration of the Payroll System.
  • Input and quality check Payroll data such as setting up new employees, terminations, salary and position changes, employee deductions, banking and superannuation details.
  • Assist with the timesheets transfer and timesheet imports into the Accounting system, checking that all timesheets have been approved.
  • Assist with other payroll related payments such as PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.
  • Liaise with employees, Management and other departments (as applicable) to resolve all queries.

Reporting

  • End of month and end of financial year preparation and reconciliations / auditing.
  • Assist with generating financial reports for senior management.
  • Support senior management with commercial objectives.
  • Liaisons with external Accountants, Auditors, Insurance Brokers, Bankers, and other Consultants as required.
  • Ad-hoc tasks as set by line managers

What we are looking for;

  • Commerce/Accounting bachelor’s degree//TAFE certificates - highly regarded
  • Prior work experience in accounting/bookkeeping and payroll
  • Prior experience utilising Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to demonstrate organisational skills and task prioritisation
  • Dedication to working within set timelines
  • Understands Australian legislative requirements and various payroll related taxes i.e. FBT, Payroll tax, Super requirements etc.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • XERO accounting program experience
