The Opportunity
As Senior Actuarial Analyst you will provide a variety of analysis, reporting & actuarial support for HCF’s Diversified Business, which includes: HCF Life, Overseas Visitor Health Cover, Pet & Travel businesses. This includes detailed analysis of HCF’s diversified products, members and financial performance, and supporting regulatory functions.
Working within the Product & Diversified Business division, you will liaise with and provide services to other business units, including Business Growth, Member Services, Member Health, Finance, IT, and Risk & Compliance.
Providing Actuarial support and business insight on HCF’s strategic initiatives, this role involves a range of activities, including:
- Financial Modelling
- Budgeting
- Pricing
- Product Development
- Reporting & Monitoring

About You
You will be a Tertiary qualified Actuary with a minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience in an Actuarial role in the Life/Health Instance industry.
- Progressing towards Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, or recently qualified
- Strong technical and modelling capability including use of Excel, SAS/SQL, Python/R and/or other platforms
- Knowledge of the Australian Life/Health Industry and its regulatory framework.
- Demonstrated expertise in analysis, interpreting of data/information and providing concise commentary and recommendations.
- Independent and flexible approach to deal with a wide range of tasks and develop solutions
- Strong presentation skills. and ability to communicate effectively across the organisation
- You will be flexible and adaptable with ability to collaborate with the wider team
