Join our Undergraduate Admissions Team and become a pivotal force driving excellence in application assessment! Directly supporting the Undergraduate Admissions Manager and Team Leader, you will collaborate seamlessly with team members and stakeholders to drive continuous improvements. Take a lead role in ensuring swift and consistent assessment of prospective undergraduate applications (with a particular focus on undergraduate Fine Arts and Music applications). This will involve liaison with Divisional Groups and Faculties, meticulous database updates, correspondence preparation, and timely applicant communication-all while maintaining excellent customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring precise handling of applications, deferrals, and advanced standing, adhering to agreed timelines and criteria.
- Providing guidance and direction to team members throughout the supplementy application process for undergraduate Fine Arts and Music applications.
- Enhance team performance by leveraging analytics and performance tracking to meet agreed service levels, standards, and reporting requirements.
- Spending time embedded within the Admissions Team at the University's Southbank campus during peak periods (while calling the Parkville campus home for the majority of the year).

Showcasing leadership experience is paramount, including providing direction and guidance to a team, conducting training sessions, and leading reviews of processes. Your excellent organisational skills, coupled with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks concurrently, will contribute to our dynamic team's success.
You will also have:
- Relevant undergraduate qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, using initiative to anticipate work requirements and to manage and resolve issues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team to achieve results.
- High-level computer skills, particularly in the suite of Microsoft applications, web, and the use of databases.

Your new team - Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
The Undergraduate Admissions team manages applications for both international and domestic applicants. Most international applications are received directly by the University, and the team is responsible for following up on information that may be missing from the application before assessing it according to approved guidelines and sending an outcome. Domestic applications are primarily processed via the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC), with selection conducted by the team according to approved parameters.
The Undergraduate team are also responsible for many tasks associated with the commencing undergraduate cohort (including managing deferrals and processing applications for special entry schemes) and assessing applications of secondary students wishing to participate in the University of Melbourne Extension Program (UMEP). The team also manages relevant enquiries referred to the team by first-level responders.
