As part of our ongoing commitment to employee health and wellbeing, we have a great opportunity for a Senior Health and Rehabilitation Adviser to provide occupational health services to Managers, Supervisors and Employees at Aurizon. Reporting to the Health and Rehabilitation Principal Adviser, you will effectively address health and injury factors impacting staff participation at work. You will also contribute to the mitigation of risk to Aurizon’s rail network by facilitating health and fitness medical assessments.
About the role:
Manage injury management and rehabilitation activities to optimise employee work and claims outcomes
Provide injury management advice and assistance to Aurizon stakeholders
Manage a complex injury management case portfolio
Coordinate pre-employment, pre-placement and periodical health and fitness assessments to achieve compliance with the National Health Standards followed by requirements in the Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) Act, Human Resource Policies and Procedures and Aurizon's Safety Management System
Participate in the development and review of health management plans and intervention strategies
Coordinate the provision of services to Aurizon by external Medical and Allied Health providers
About you:
Qualification in allied health (mandatory) – Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Nursing or similar fields
Registered with a relevant professional board/association
Demonstrated experience providing occupational rehabilitation services (employer or occupational rehabilitation provider)
Extensive knowledge and experience of various Workers’ Compensation legislations (NSW legislation experience preferable)
Extensive knowledge of contemporary health issues and health management practices
High level of skill in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health management plans
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to build strong working relationships with geographically dispersed stakeholders (internal and external)
