Opportunity

Exciting opportunity exists to join our Sustainability and External Relations team in a newly created role to elevate diversity and inclusion at Newmont Australia.

As the Senior Advisor, Indigenous Mentoring, you will be site-based, leading the development and implementation of a culturally appropriate support structure, including training and tailored mentoring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) employees at our Boddington Operations.

Your role is pivotal in fostering a positive, culturally safe work environment aligned with our commitments and supporting the delivery of Reconciliation Action Plan commitments.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and establish a mentor program model, delivering mentoring, coaching, and support directly to the ATSI workforce.
• Provide case management support, mentoring, and coaching to ATSI employees and create opportunities for progression.
• Educate and guide People Leaders in supporting ATSI employees in a culturally safe and respectful manner.
• Lead and drive the site-based Mentoring Support Network, collaborating with training providers for effective mentor training.
• Provide quarterly reports on mentoring interactions and Mentoring Support Network activities.

To ensure success in this role you should have:

• Demonstrated capacity to develop and deliver ATSI mentor training, establish programs, and manage projects.
• Experience effectively working and communicating with ATSI people, communities, and organisations.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with internal and external stakeholders at various leadership levels.
• Applied understanding of case management practices.
• Ability to address and resolve complex personnel issues to enhance sustained employment outcomes.
• Solid written communication and data analytical skills.
• Operational mine site experience will be highly regarded.

This role is offered on an 8:6 DIDO roster. The Boddington site offers a unique lifestyle, allowing you to live locally or stay in our Village based on your roster.
