About the Role
The Senior Advisor Corporate Affairs will play a pivotal role in helping to raise awareness of the medical research, development and translation taking place at the Translational Research Institute. This role will focus on promoting TRI-based research to educate a broad audience on our purpose, which is transforming health through collaborative research. You will play an important role in the delivery of comprehensive media and marketing communications strategies that showcase the translational research achievements that occur at TRI to our global community.
Key Selection Criteria
Experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience within the media communications sector working with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience developing and pitching stories to Australian media within print, online, social, and television required; international media exposure a benefit.
- Experience providing art direction to stakeholders for video and photo. Television news and/or commercial video production experience highly regarded.
- Experience working within the Health & Science, education or public sector beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- An impeccable network of current contacts within the Australia media industry.
- A strong understanding of State and Federal government Ministerial and Departmental functions will be an advantage.
- Highly developed oral and written communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and build positive and trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent time management and ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
- Able to work autonomously, yet able to engage and collaborate with others to complete various activities and projects.
- High-level computer literacy skills and understanding including, Outlook and Microsoft suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as communications software tools such as Vision 6, Survey Monkey etc.
