In the role of Senior Advisor (Environmental Management) you will assist in the delivery of the Marine Infrastructure Investment Program and provide specialist advice and services to Maritime Safety Queensland and stakeholders on the marine environment and the provision and maintenance of boating infrastructure.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Provision of environmental advice relating to boating infrastructure, dredging and waterways management projects, including site inspections and assessments.
- Preparing, undertaking, and lodging environmental assessments, reports, notifications, audits and technical notes.
- Acquisition and management of project environmental permit and approvals.
- Liaise and maintain relationships with internal Regions/Districts, TMR teams and external Authorities on a range of environmental issues.
- Manage, procure, and review external consultant's designs, reports, or other environmental deliverables.
To be considered suitable for the role you will have:
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, as well as communication skills, both orally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders on complex matters.
- Proven expertise in Environmental Management, including creating environmental assessments, writing, compiling, and lodging permit and approvals.
- Experience in conducting environmental audits on construction projects, preparing audit reports, and communicating with contractors to mitigate any environmental risks.
- Experience in project closeout activities, preparing close out reports as per the statutory approvals and communicating to the regulatory authorities in timely manner.
- Providing advice to the other teams on matters of environmental significance.
