Senior Advisor Safety & Wellbeing
We have two exciting opportunities - 1x permanent and 1x temporary opportunity until December 2024 with potential to become permanent.
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Safety and Wellbeing Advisors to join our team within Safety and Wellbeing, Corporate Services, Department of Customer Service (DCS).
You will provide subject matter expertise across the Department while designing and delivering workplace health and safety policies, processes, programs and reporting to underpin a safe environment and culture which is compliant with legislative and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead the implementation and management of DCS's Safety Management System to drive the continual improvement of health and safety and minimise risks to the workforce, clients and visitors
- Provide specialist advice on workplace health and safety strategies and practices
- Develop and design strategies, initiatives and a comprehensive safety management framework
- Analyse hazard/incidents and training needs and manage the delivery of workplace health and safety programs
- Maintain an appreciation and understanding of the business, audit, analyse and evaluate DCS's Safety Management System to enhance appropriateness and applicability to organisational functions while complying with legislative obligations.
- Manage projects, including developing plans, identifying and coordinating resources, budgets, supplier and contract management and meeting reporting requirements to deliver programs and initiatives that continually improve the Safety Management System and its application
- Extensive experience in a Safety and Wellbeing role
- Experienced in diverse work health safety industries
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external)
- Ability to develop and provide practical, flexible and sustainable solutions that meet organisational needs
- Competence in hazard/incident investigation techniques and forms of analysis
- Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in applying safety legislation and management systems
- Experience in developing and running training sessions
- Formal tertiary qualifications in workplace health and safety
- Team leader experience (desirable)

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $120859 base plus superannuation
