About the role:

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, analysing, and mitigating Credit Risks associated with mortgage lending. This will involve preparing, reviewing, and explaining daily, weekly, and monthly credit reports. You will work closely with teams to ensure appropriate risk management policies are developed and implemented, ensuring that risks are understood, quantified, mitigated, and priced appropriately.

Day to day will look something like this:

• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on Credit Risk assessment, portfolio performance, and risk exposure for management and regulatory purposes
• Utilise data analysis, and market trends to assess Credit Risks, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations to the management for risk mitigation strategies
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit policies and procedures in line with industry regulations, ensuring compliance with lending standards and risk management guidelines
• Contributing to the implementation and monitoring of credit policies and processes to ensure the portfolio is managed consistently with the bank’s policies
• Act as SME providing guidance and support to stakeholders on Credit Risk-related matters, fostering a risk-aware culture within the organisation
• Monitor the performance of existing loans, conduct periodic reviews, and provide recommendations for any necessary modifications, extensions, or collections
• Support the broader team on various credit-related administrative takes such as covenant check and reporting, credit monitoring, maintenance of system records, documentation, etc
• Periodic quality assurance review of lending team assessments and approvals of home loan applications

The ideal candidate will:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Proven experience of 3+ years in Credit Risk analysis within the mortgage or home loan sector, preferably in a non-bank lending industry
• Strong understanding of Credit Risk methodologies, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements within the lending industry
• Proficiency in analysis tools or software (e.g., SQL, SAS, R, Python, PowerBI)
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights
• Effective communication skills
