Welcome to the world of land-based gaming. Light & Wonder’s gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop character, prop, symbol, text and UI animations using digital 2D, 3D, and motion design techniques for Electronic Gaming Machine products.
In accordance with creative briefs, develop initial animation concepts and continue these through to final designs. Assist with pre-production video and documentation.
Conversion and interpretation of 2D concepts into textured 3d models.
Liaise with team members to produce animation work to ensure the artistic integrity and quality of assets.
Assist the Graphics Team Lead in providing mentorship and training in new tools and techniques to the team.
Help to identify and solve animation process and implementation issues.
Creation of marketing video and animations that align with existing branding and style guides.
Contributes to a range of deliverables within the EGM studio team.
Alongside VFX Supervisor, evaluates creative and technical approach for assigned shots.
Qualification Requirements:
Training and/or Experience:
5+ yrs. experience working in an animation capacity, preferably within a game development studio.
Extensive training/experience in the use of digital art and animation software, including After Effects, Blender, Spine, Maya, 3DS Max, or similar.
Expert knowledge in all tasks related to both traditional and 3D animation, including character animation, modelling, rigging, lighting, and texturing, as well as particle systems and motion graphics development.
Employment will also require sound traditional art skills.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of the requirements of animation within the Gaming industry, and traditional animation principles.
A critical eye for detail and ability to follow/maintain stringent guidelines.
Experience working with Unity game engine advantageous.
Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
Technical and creative problem solving with a can-do mindset.
Gaming industry/related experience preferred.
Education:
Tertiary qualifications in appropriate art related field are preferred, but not essential.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for employment at Light and Wonder. You must be willing to work out of our office location in Silverwater 3 days per week.
