We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Receptionist to join our team on a Maternity Leave Contract basis. You would be one of 4 receptionists working alongside our team of 7 Vets and 13 Nurses. Position overview:
As a Senior Receptionist, you will be the face of our clinic, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to both our clients and veterinary team. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk, managing client appointments, handling enquires and assisting with various administrative tasks. This position requires a high level of professionalism, organisational skills and genuine love for animals.
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients warmly and assist them with check-in/check-out procedures
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the clinic’s appointment calendar
- Provide accurate information to clients regarding services, pricing and general enquiries
- Coordinate with veterinary staff to ensure efficient patient flow and timely communication
- Process payments, invoices and maintain accurate financial records
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area and front desk
- Assist with filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks as needed
- Handle client complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Educating clients on pet care, products and making up medications as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a receptionist, preferably in a veterinary clinic or healthcare setting for a minimum of two years
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for animals and a commitment to providing outstanding care to our clients and their pets
Preferred Qualification:
- Veterinary experience is a plus, though not essential
- Experience with veterinary practice management software (e.g RxWorks or EzyVet)
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and procedures; not essential
