We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Arborist to join our Parks and Tree team in this exciting role.
Key Responsibility Areas and Qualifications:
- Lead the Tree Team in all aspects of daily works and ensure the team is enthusiastic, self-motivated delivering high quality works and outcomes at all times with a strong focus on safety and customer service, and aspires to self-improvement.
- Plan programs, coordinate activities and perform duties, to deliver Council’s tree management and maintenance programs efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinate works for council’s tree management programs including clearance of street trees from power lines, under-pruning, tree-planting, tree-watering programs and works arising from works instructions and customer requests.
- Provide quality tree care service which will include written assessment on tree health
- Certificate 4 in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or a lesser qualification with extensive experience working in the arboriculture field.
- Demonstrated ability in leading and supervising small teams.
- Working knowledge of the Australian Standards for pruning of amenity trees.
- The ability to assist with and lead Council’s annual Tree Planting programs across the Shire.
