Job description
The Senior Assessor will be appointed by the chief executive as a Government Assessor under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 (Section 128). This position reports to the Team Leader, Financial Assistance and will:
* Perform functions as required under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009.
* Undertake evidence-based decision making in line with legislative intent to provide financial assistance to victims of crime.
* Provide authoritative advice to administrative officers as required to enable the timely and responsive delivery of services to victims of crime.
Your key responsibilities
* Undertakes evidence-based decision making in accordance with the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009.
* Delivers quality and responsive services to clients through the application of Victim Assist resources, policies, processes, systems and technologies.
* Responsible for the case-management of applications for financial assistance, including accurate record-keeping, and providing mentoring as required.
* Takes responsibility for completion of work and seeks guidance when required.
* Communicates effectively and creates trusting relationships with a range of stakeholders including other departmental business units and the non-government sector, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of Victim Assist services.
* Contributes to a high performing team, collaborates with others, displays motivation, and shares and encourages innovative ideas.
* Identifies and implements ways to continually improve services, though sharing and seeking creative ideas, suggestions and data to inform the effective delivery of services.
