Due to our continued growth we are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist. This role would suit an experienced OT with medicolegal assessment experience or someone looking to challenge themselves in a new area and build on their expertise!
Extensive training will be provided for any therapist without medicolegal experience.
The purpose of the role is to conduct and write high quality medicolegal reports as well as being prepared to give evidence as an expert witness when required.
We are open to those seeking a full time or part time position.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Completing medicolegal assessments and reports for various insurers and solicitors throughout Queensland.
- Reporting on a claimants capacity for work and activities of daily living, as well as making comment on whether further treatment or equipment is required for the claimant.
- Reporting on the claimant's capacity to work in other fields if required.
- Providing evidence in court as an expert witness when required.
- Senior Occupational Therapist (minimum 5 years experience);
- Demonstrated Medicolegal experience (highly regarded) or an interest in learning and utilising your skillset specifically in this area;
- Strong & current understanding of QLD workers comp and CTP legislation - (mandatory);
- People management experience (highly regarded);
- The ability to communicate effectively and vary your management approach;
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving;
- Honesty, integrity, good team attitude and positive approach;
- Genuine commitment to continuous improvement;
- Strong relationship building skills and a passion for account management;
- Applicants will be required to obtain a current valid Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
