Your new role
In this 12 month contract you will undertake daily portfolio compliance activities across the Investments Department. You will have the opportunity to utilise Aladdin and other Compliance tools to monitor, review and escalate pre- and post-trade compliance issues across the internal management activities undertaken.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring portfolios across all the major asset classes to ensure compliance against internal mandates as well as market & jurisdiction compliance requirements as applicable.
- Ensure compliance rules are appropriately coded and tested, with an emphasis on automation.
- Function as an SME to represent Investment Compliance team in organisational initiatives/projects.
- Work closely with junior team members to ensure BAU processes are followed while continuously looking for ways to improve existing workflows/processes.
- Ensure timely review and lodgement of Substantial Share Holding notifications.
- Assist with new compliance and reporting initiatives.
- Ensure that investment mandates are appropriately drafted and authorised.
- Maintain and enhance off-platform monitoring tools used within the team.
- Take a lead role when working with key internal and external portfolio managers and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and comprehensive remediation of incidents, including appropriate internal reporting.

- Support Fund-wide initiatives, and projects.
What you'll need
- Bachelor of Commerce or Finance, or other equivalent.
- 5 + years' experience in a risk and/or compliance function from within major financial institutions, custodians, pension funds or insurance office, with specific exposure to funds management.
- Relevant exposure to institutional investment strategies including a strong working knowledge of derivative instruments and pooled investment structures.
- Working knowledge of programming languages (such as Python) is highly desired.
- Well-developed analytical skills, organisational skills and a high attention to detail.
- Well-developed written and oral communication/ interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
