We have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to Special Counsel to join ourEnvironment & Planning team working with Catherine Morton in our Sydney office.
More about the work and the team
- Work with an industry leading Environment & Planning Partner in an established team providing practical solutions to difficult and often complex issues for local and state government as well as a broad range of private sector clients
- You will be providing expert advice about the exercise of government powers and the conduct of investigations and conducting litigation in Courts and Tribunals with civil or criminal enforcement matters or merit review matters
- Working in the Local Court, NCAT and the NSW Land and Environment Court, your work will involve judicial review, easements proceedings, contempt proceedings and merits appeals from the actual or deemed refusal of development applications

More about you
- At least 6 years' experience gained in a well-regarded private practice or in house role with experience in defending Property, Planning and Environment matters
- Extensive experience in investigations, litigation and prosecutions appearing before NCAT and the NSW Land and Environment Court
- As this team continues to grow, your leadership and mentoring skills will be an integral part of ensuring the continued success and growth of the team
