About the Job
The Senior Associate role will directly assist the Head of Unlisted Valuations and will be responsible for managing valuations and performing oversight activities (such as due diligence and trigger monitoring) for Rest’s A$17 billion in unlisted investments. This role will require strong stakeholder management skills and will work closely with Rest internal investment team as well as external investment managers, valuers and advisors. The Senior Associate will also have the opportunity to present regularly at the Valuation Committee that is chaired by the CFO.
About You:
Key accountabilities/ responsibilities:
- Managing valuation risk by ensuring valuation conclusions are appropriate and we have robust documentation to support our valuation conclusions.
- Active involvement with the Asset Class Investment teams, external managers and external valuers (including Infrastructure, Property, Private Equity and Alternatives) to understand and challenge valuation assumptions, inputs and ensure an independent view.
- Reviewing key valuation metrics and assumptions for consistency across the portfolio and maintain and database thereof.
- Administering the valuation timetable (including the RFP process) and ensure valuations are recorded on a timely basis. Will also need to manage and organise valuation tenders and appointment of external valuers and advisors.
- Researching and developing valuation insights for use in the valuation of unlisted assets.
- Preparing monthly Valuation Papers for the Finance Valuation Committee and presenting papers at the Committee.

Qualifications and required experiences:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce (preference major in Finance/ Accounting/ Property)
- Postgraduate qualifications such as CA/CPA or CFA or CPV
- Demonstrated experience working within a large accounting firm, a boutique valuation firm, or an institutional/corporate investing organisation.
- Strong technical valuation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas and challenge thinking.
- Agile and comfortable working in a team where project management of multiple tasks is required.
- Experience managing projects with several stakeholders and service providers.
