Senior Backup Engineer

Job Description
Our Federal Government client requires a Senior Backup Engineer to be responsible for administration, implementation and tuning of the Department's backup solution (VEEAM) and continuous improvement of their backup solution to ensure it complies with the Essential Eight Cyber Security requirements.
It is expected that applicants will be Australian Citizens who hold, or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
Essential Criteria include but are not limited to: * Demonstrated experience and knowledge in design, implementation, administration, tuning and troubleshooting of backup technologies such as:

• Veeam Backup and Recovery
• Veeam SureBackup
• Veeam Enterprise Manager
• Veeam ONE
• Application Aware Backup
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in administration of:
• HPE Apollo Server
• HPE StoreOnce
• NetApp E-Series Array
• Immutable Backup using Scality
• VMware vSphere 8.x
• Ability to produce design, build and operations documents for processes and procedures.
• An understanding of security directives such as the Essential Eight Maturity Model and Australian Government Information Security Manual.

Extension/s: 2 x 12 month options to extend
Eligibility: Australian Citizenship | active Baseline Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one
Location: Canberra, A.C.T
Working Arrangements: The Department supports working from home arrangements on a case-by-case basis subject to the business needs of the supervising manager and business unit. This role is not suitable for 100% remote working arrangements.
