EMBR Hospitality is a successful hospitality management and consulting group. Proudly South Australian owned, they operate a number of highly regarded venues across Adelaide, including, Dolly, Bar Lune and Spread. They have an outstanding team, and they are progressive in their menu design and food and beverage offering. Due to growth and acquisition, a newly created position now exists for a Senior Bookkeeper to join the team on a permanent, part time basis (0.6 – 0.8 FTE).
The Role
Reporting through to the Director & General Manager, your duties will include:
- Management of all accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Preparing payment runs for approval, including, scheduling invoices and uploading them to the bank
- Verifying, allocating and posting transactions to Xero for multiple entities
- Sending invoices, receipting payments and following up on overdue amounts
- Processing the fortnightly payroll for 40x employees using Wageloch
- Ensuring that all employees are paid correctly in accordance with the relevant Award taking into considering allowances, penalty rates and entitlements
- Calculating and processing statutory obligations including Payroll Tax, Superannuation and Workcover
- Assisting with BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement
- End of month close off including adjusting journals, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations
- Providing relevant information to the external accountants for tax and financial reporting purposes
- Participating in meetings with the leadership team to discuss reports and relevant financial information
- Ensuring that financial data is accurate and well maintained
- Assisting with continuous improvement activities and other administrative tasks as required by the business
About You
- Previous end to end bookkeeping experience and the ability to work autonomously
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
- Previous experience working with multiple entities in a group context
- Flexible approach and capable of picking up additional tasks as the business evolves
- Qualifications in Bookkeeping, Payroll or Business Administration as well as exposure to Xero and Wageloch will be highly regarded but is not essential
